London Stabbing Spree Leaves Man Critical as Seven Arrested in Broad Daylight Attack

A machete-wielding attacker left one man fighting for his life and sent shock waves through a busy shopping district in southeast London on Thursday afternoon. Metropolitan Police arrested seven men after four victims suffered stab wounds during what officials described as an altercation that erupted on Bromley High Street around 2:15 p.m.

Emergency services descended on the commercial strip in minutes. Paramedics, along with London's Air Ambulance, treated victims at the scene before transporting three to hospital with injuries deemed non-life-threatening. The fourth remained in critical condition.

Chaos in a Fast-Food Restaurant

A KFC outlet became ground zero for the violence. The fast-food chain confirmed the incident started as a fight involving staff and customers at its Bromley High Street location, with the situation spiraling into weapon use and bloodshed. KFC said it was cooperating with police and providing support to employees and patrons caught in the mayhem.

An eyewitness described the terrifying moments as a man dressed in grey athletic wear suddenly produced a large blade. "I saw a fight breaking out at the door," the witness recalled. "A male in a grey tracksuit pulled out a machete and ran further into KFC holding it up in the air, at which point most people around KFC started running away." The attacker then fled the scene with another person through a nearby shopping center.
