Hexagon’s OM:HEXA stock rally carried the shares to a Friday close of SEK106.05, even as its Q3 2026 report showed lower revenue and trailing profitability lifted by a large one-off gain. The results put the strength of the share-price run alongside a more mixed picture of recurring earnings.
Revenue was €1,049.1m in Q3 2026, compared with €1,303.1m in Q3 2025. Net income excluding extra items, however, swung to €446.0m from a loss of €33.9m, while basic earnings per share rose to €0.1661 from a loss of €0.0126.
That contrast matters for investors assessing whether the rally reflects sustainable operating performance. Hexagon reported stronger profitability measures, but its trailing net profit margin was 50.1%, compared with 11.9% in the prior 12-month period, and the source said a one-off gain of about €1.8b heavily influenced the figure.
Hexagon OM:HEXA stock rally meets mixed earnings signals
Management’s account of the quarter included progress in Autonomous Solutions and Manufacturing Intelligence, both of which delivered what it described as solid organic progress. Cost savings and tariff refunds also helped margins, according to the report.
Cash generation offered another positive data point. Hexagon reported cash conversion of 82% and net debt of €489m, which the source presented as evidence of cash generation alongside the accounting profit figures.
Adjusted earnings per share reached €0.082. That measure adds support to the profitability story, though it does not remove the distinction between recurring business performance and the large non-recurring gain affecting the trailing margin.
The weaker reported revenue complicates a straightforward growth narrative. Comparing the two quarterly figures, sales were lower in Q3 2026 than in the same quarter a year earlier, even as net income excluding extra items and basic earnings per share moved back into positive territory.
Waygate deal adds a margin question
The report also highlighted an expected near-term effect from the Waygate deal. Management flagged an estimated 150 bps impact on the group’s EBITAC margin, describing the deal as initially dilutive.
That creates a separate issue for investors tracking the quality of earnings: the business reported improving adjusted results and cash measures, while the acquisition is expected to put pressure on a group margin measure at first. The source did not give a timetable for that impact.
Hexagon’s shares had completed a strong 90-day run by Friday’s close, according to the report. The latest figures now leave investors weighing that share performance against lower quarterly revenue, the influence of the one-off gain and the expected initial margin effect from Waygate.
The next reported results will show whether operating progress and cash generation can continue alongside those factors.
