The stakes are clear. Brentford can use home comfort and familiarity to set the tone for another season above the lower half, while Spurs need a fast start to calm nerves after finishing 17th last season, according to ESPN.
There is also a wider Premier League angle here. Opening-day games often expose how quickly a new squad can gel, and Tottenham’s lineup looks far more unsettled than Brentford’s. That leaves Keith Andrews’ side with a real chance to make the visitors work for every inch at the Gtech.
