The Golden State Warriors turned a 25-point hole into a 112-95 win over the Los Angeles Lakers, with Stephen Curry’s late scoring and a sharp move against Luka Doncic defining the comeback. The victory made Golden State the first team in the past 30 seasons to overcome a 25-point deficit and win by at least 17.

The game in San Francisco began as Doncic’s showcase. He scored 21 points and handed out five assists in the first quarter, pushing Los Angeles ahead 38-15. After Lakers fans heard “Luka sucks” chants, Doncic quieted the crowd with his play.

Bench shooting changed the game

Los Angeles scored to open the second quarter and stretch its lead to 25. But the Lakers’ momentum faded when Doncic went to the bench, and Golden State began chipping away.

Warriors reserves Georges Niang and De’Anthony Melton combined for 27 points off the bench. Their second-quarter three-pointers helped pull Golden State back into contention and gave Curry a chance to take over late.

Curry had eight points and three assists in a late stretch described as theatrical, finishing with 31 points. One of the game’s signature moments came when he broke Doncic’s balance with a crossover, a vivid turn in a matchup that had already drawn attention before tip-off.

A matchup with extra edge

Pregame discussion had centered on Doncic’s rematch with Warriors rookie Yaxel Lendeborg. Lendeborg had criticized the Lakers star after their previous meeting, while Doncic stayed publicly quiet about the remarks. His opening quarter supplied a forceful response on the court, but Golden State’s reserves and Curry eventually shifted the night.

“Them boys had my back today,” Lendeborg said. “Steph Curry did his thing.”

The comeback gives the Warriors a striking win over a Lakers team that had built its advantage around Doncic’s early scoring. What comes next for either team is not established by the game details, but the rematch has already added another chapter to the Curry-Doncic matchup.
