A 38-year-old woman died when her red Nissan Juke veered off Allerton Road in Woolton and struck a brick wall early Friday evening. Flowers and handwritten notes now cover the roadside at the junction with High Street, where the collision occurred around 11:30 p.m. on September 4.
The victim, identified locally as Kelly Marie Lundie, was pronounced dead at the scene. Friends described her across social media as warm and generous—someone who "wore her heart on her sleeve," according to one tribute posted publicly. The crash also involved a white Vauxhall Astra; Merseyside Police's serious collision investigation unit cordoned off the area the following morning to examine what led to the incident.
Tributes Pour In
By the day after the crash, dozens of floral arrangements and handmade cards blanketed the spot where she died. One message read simply: "RIP Kelly, I hope you've found your peace now girl." Friends who posted on social media struggled to process the loss. "My beautiful friend, my heart is in bits," wrote one acquaintance. "You were such a gorgeous person inside and out."

Sergeant Phil Everett from Merseyside Police's Matrix Roads Policing department said the force is in early stages of determining how the collision occurred. "We know this happened late last night when many residents may have been inside their homes," he said, "but if anyone saw what happened or were driving through the area just before the incident, please contact us."
