Fallon Sherrock ended Luke Littler’s run through a televised darts challenge and claimed its £501,000 prize, beating the world No. 1 in a single leg at Manchester Central. Her win came after Littler had seen off 14 challengers in a row.

The match was part of Netflix’s live show, “Beat Luke Littler,” where contestants had to reach 501 and finish on a double before Littler. Sherrock did it in 14 darts, completing a checkout of 143 after earlier scoring a 180 and a 140.

A high-stakes single leg

The format left little room for recovery: one leg decided whether a challenger would win the prize or Littler would advance. Sherrock’s sharp scoring set up the finish, and she closed it out under the lights at a packed arena.

Littler had comfortably beaten a varied field before Sherrock took her turn. Among those he defeated were 14-year-olds Mackinley Cooper-Johnson and Jayden Walker. Netflix had prepared contingency plans in case Littler lost early, including a second-place competition.

Sherrock was one of 24 challengers in the event, whose lineup had drawn debate after it was announced. The contestants included people from jobs such as driving instruction, restaurant management and electrical engineering. The show’s central question was whether anyone could beat Littler in the sudden-death format. Sherrock supplied the answer.

A landmark night for Sherrock

The 32-year-old, known as the “Queen of the Palace,” has already made history in darts: in 2019, she became the first woman to win a match at the PDC World Darts Championship at Alexandra Palace. She later reached the tournament’s third round in 2020.

After securing the prize, Sherrock was presented with a trophy bearing the words “I beat Luke Littler” and an oversized cheque. She said the moment was difficult to put into words and noted that her son was attending a darts tournament for the first time and had watched her win.

The £501,000 award also exceeded the amount Littler earned when he first won at Alexandra Palace. For Sherrock, the immediate milestone was personal as well as sporting: she had beaten the world’s top-ranked player on a live stage, with the prize and a trophy to mark the result.
