Premium Windows laptops are entering a new price bracket. HP briefly listed two OmniBook models powered by NVIDIA’s RTX Spark platform at starting prices of $2,999.99 and $3,199.99, with the larger model’s top configuration reported at $4,999.

The prices appeared on HP’s U.S. online store on October 7, ahead of Microsoft’s Windows and Surface event. The product pages were later removed, and HP’s listings have not established that the configurations are currently available to order.

High prices, substantial memory

The OmniBook X 14 was listed from $2,999.99, while the OmniBook Ultra 16 started at $3,199.99. Both starting configurations were reported with 32GB of memory and a 1TB solid-state drive. The Gadgeteer said the smaller model’s listed specification also included an 18-core CPU and a Blackwell GPU with 5,120 cores.

NotebookCheck reported that the Ultra 16 could reach $4,999 in its most powerful configuration. Another reported listing put a higher X 14 configuration at $4,499.99. Those figures underscore how far the first RTX Spark laptops sit above conventional consumer notebooks, even before buyers consider upgrades.

HP’s listings surfaced just before Microsoft introduced its RTX Spark-powered Surface Laptop Ultra. Microsoft’s model starts at $2,599.99, with configurations reported at $3,000 and $3,300. That gives shoppers a lower entry point into the new platform, though prices alone do not establish how the machines compare in performance or features.

A new Windows laptop category

The RTX Spark platform pairs an N1X processor with RTX graphics and unified memory, with announcements describing systems offering up to 128GB. HP’s reported base configurations carry 32GB, well below that ceiling. The machines are positioned for demanding workloads, including AI and graphics tasks, rather than basic everyday computing.

After Microsoft’s launch, preorder listings began appearing from HP and other PC makers, including ASUS, Dell, Lenovo and MSI. But HP’s briefly published prices remain reported store listings, not confirmation that either OmniBook configuration is ready to ship. The steepest reported price for the Ultra 16 is $4,999.
