Google has raised the Pixel 10a’s price by $100, turning a $499 budget-friendly option into a $599 purchase for the 128GB model. The change appeared on Google’s online stores without a public announcement.

The 256GB version has also climbed, from $599 to $699 in the United States. The new prices surfaced first on Google’s store in Japan before appearing on its U.S. site, according to reports by 9to5Google and PCMag.

Higher costs across phone makers

The Pixel 10a launched in March at $499 for 128GB and $599 for 256GB. PCMag named it an Editors’ Choice and described it as a strong option in the $500 range. That value proposition has narrowed sharply.

Google has not publicly explained the increase. Reports point to a wider shortage of memory and storage components, as demand from new AI data centers puts pressure on supplies. The squeeze is reaching consumer devices: Apple raised prices on several iPhone 17 models and the iPhone Air by $100 last month, while Samsung increased prices across its Galaxy S26 line earlier this week, according to the source reports.

The higher price also changes the phone’s place in the market. XDA Developers noted that the base model now sits in mid-range territory alongside rivals such as Samsung’s Galaxy A57 5G.

Discounts remain at some retailers

Google cut the Pixel 10a to $424 last month, but that offer has given way to the higher listed price. Some third-party deals remain: Walmart still appeared to have the 128GB model for $499, though supplies were limited, while Amazon UK advertised it for £387 during a Prime Day sale for Prime members, or £399 without a subscription.

Prices vary by market. A report on Google’s European store listed the 128GB model at €649, up from €549, and the 256GB version at €749.

Google had not responded to a request for comment in the reports. Buyers weighing the Pixel 10a will now need to check retailer stock and local pricing, as the company’s official listing sets a markedly higher benchmark.
