JAKARTA — PT Pertamina (Persero), through its subsidiary PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, has officially announced price cuts for a number of non-subsidized fuel products. The policy took effect on July 1, 2026, at all Pertamina gas stations nationwide, including DKI Jakarta.
The corporate move comes after a downward trend in global crude oil prices over the past month. The adjustment affects flagship products such as Pertamax Turbo, Pertamina Dex, and Dexlite. In addition to fuel for motor vehicles, Pertamina also adjusted aviation fuel, or Avtur, at Soekarno-Hatta Airport as part of its regular review.
Details of Non-Subsidized Fuel Price Changes
Based on the company’s official data, the sharpest price cut was recorded for non-subsidized diesel products, which are highly dependent on MOPS (Mean of Platts Singapore) price fluctuations. Pertamina Dex is now priced at Rp21,150 per liter, sharply down from the previous Rp24,800 per liter.
Meanwhile, Dexlite has been adjusted to Rp19,700 per liter, compared with the previous price of Rp23,000 per liter. For high-octane gasoline vehicles, Pertamax Turbo is now set at Rp19,300 per liter from the previous Rp20,750 per liter.
| Fuel Type | New Price (Rp/Liter) | Previous Price (Rp/Liter) |
|---|---|---|
| Pertamax Turbo | 19,300 | 20,750 |
| Pertamina Dex | 21,150 | 24,800 |
| Dexlite | 19,700 | 23,000 |
On the other hand, not all non-subsidized fuel prices changed during this period. Pertamina kept Pertamax at Rp16,250 per liter, while Pertamax Green 95 remained stable at Rp17,000 per liter for DKI Jakarta and surrounding areas. The decision shows that management remains selective in reviewing the cost components most affected by global oil prices.
Market Mechanism and Operational Impact
Vice President of Corporate Communication at Pertamina Patra Niaga, Kitty Andhora, explained that the policy is the result of the company’s monthly periodic evaluation. The adjustment follows the applicable market mechanism in line with Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Decree No. 245.K/MG.01/MEM.M/2022 on the formula for retail prices of general fuel.
“The adjustment of non-subsidized fuel prices refers to global oil price dynamics and follows the existing regulations. This step has been coordinated with the government,” Kitty said in a press release in Jakarta on Wednesday (7/1/2026). She stressed that public purchasing power and the national economic situation are crucial considerations in the decision-making process.
In addition to the adjustment for land vehicles, Avtur prices at Soekarno-Hatta Airport were also recorded lower at Rp19,190 per liter, down from the previous Rp22,190 per liter. The lower avtur price is a welcome boost for the aviation industry, which has recently been trying to curb operating costs amid high airfares.
Pertamina is committed to maintaining product quality in line with specifications despite price changes at the consumer level. The company said the move is expected to have a positive impact on logistics and transportation operating costs for the public. Vehicle users who typically rely on non-subsidized fuel can now enjoy more competitive prices than in the previous month.
Broader Economic Context
On a macro level, non-subsidized fuel prices are indeed highly sensitive to the rupiah’s exchange rate against the U.S. dollar and the prices of crude oil benchmarks such as Brent or WTI. When global oil prices soften and the rupiah tends to be stable or stronger, Pertamina has more room to lower prices.
For the logistics sector, lower prices for diesel products such as Pertamina Dex and Dexlite provide a meaningful domino effect. Freight costs that had been pressured by high fuel prices are now expected to be more controlled. This is also expected to help reduce the risk of cost-push inflation from distribution expenses.
Land transportation operators can now recalculate their daily operating burdens. With a fairly wide price gap—especially for diesel products—profit margins for bus companies or logistics businesses are expected to improve slightly for the remainder of 2026.
Pertamina will continue monitoring global energy commodity price movements over the next few weeks to determine pricing policy for August. Consumers are advised to check the company’s official channels through the MyPertamina app or information boards at the nearest gas station for the latest real-time prices. Going forward, these price fluctuations will remain an important indicator in mapping the health of Indonesia’s energy sector economy.
