NFL Trade Deadline Rumors Include Clowney, Harrison and Mack

The NFL trade deadline is Nov. 10 at 4 p.m. ET, and NFL trade rumors already involve former first-round picks and veteran pass rushers who could change teams. Jadeveon Clowney has been linked to a possible return to the Dallas Cowboys, while Marvin Harrison Jr. and Khalil Mack are among other names raised as potential trade candidates.
Those moves could matter to teams trying to address weak spots before the deadline. The Houston Texans are 0-4, according to a report from Yahoo Sports, and a Clowney trade could send the pass rusher to a postseason contender. The Cowboys, meanwhile, have already reshaped their defense but are still being linked to him.
NFL trade rumors focus on Harrison and Mack
CBS Sports listed 10 players who could potentially be on the trade block and teams that might buy or sell. Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. is among the names, following a slow start to the season.
Through four games, Harrison has caught five passes for 85 yards and one touchdown. He played 65.2% of the offensive snaps during Sunday's loss to the New York Giants. CBS Sports also noted that he has not averaged more than 52 yards per game in any of his three seasons.
The report said the Cardinals are not desperate to move Harrison, citing The Athletic. A significant offer could change that, but Arizona would also need to consider his contract: Harrison is under contract for 2027, and the team must decide on his fifth-year option this offseason. CBS Sports identified the Indianapolis Colts as a potential landing spot.
Khalil Mack is another possible target. The Los Angeles Chargers pass rusher has recorded three sacks, 14 tackles and 13 pressures in four games, according to CBS Sports. The report said ESPN had mentioned Mack as a trade candidate and noted that he is in the final year of his deal.
There is a Chicago connection in the speculation. Mack played for the Bears from 2018-2021, and CBS Sports raised a return to Chicago as a possibility. No trade was reported in the source.
Clowney linked to Cowboys after Houston's 0-4 start
Yahoo Sports reported that Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox believes Dallas could trade for Clowney, who returned to the Houston Texans on a one-year, $5.5M deal after spending last season with the Cowboys. Clowney had 8.5 sacks, 41 total tackles, four passes defended and one forced fumble last season, according to the report.
His fit in Dallas is not straightforward. Yahoo Sports said the Cowboys brought in defensive coordinator Christian Parker and that Clowney no longer fit the scheme. Dallas has also traded for Dee Winters and Rashan Gary and drafted Malachi Lawrence and Jaishawn Barham. The report said Gary and Winters have not impressed, while Barham has shown flashes.
Clowney has recorded 1.5 sacks in four games this season. Yahoo Sports cited Knox's projection that he could be worth a 2027 fifth-round pick, while suggesting a sixth-rounder might be more realistic. The Texans could still try to turn their season around after a Week 5 game against the winless Tennessee Titans, but the report said they are likely to move Clowney to a contender.
The Carolina Panthers, New England Patriots and San Francisco 49ers were also mentioned as possible destinations. Carolina has a gap at linebacker after Nic Scourton suffered a season-ending injury, while New England is looking for another rotational pass rusher, according to Yahoo Sports. The report said San Francisco has been hit by injuries to Nick Bosa and Mykel Williams.
Trades have already begun. ESPN reported that the Baltimore Ravens acquired center Cam Jurgens from the Philadelphia Eagles, the Cowboys acquired cornerback Joey Porter Jr. from the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the New York Giants traded for Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy.
The deadline arrives at 4 p.m. ET on Nov. 10.
