watchOS 27.2 brings Siri AI to French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish, widening access beyond the feature’s initial US English support. Apple released the update for compatible Apple Watch models with changes designed to help Siri remember earlier exchanges and answer more quickly.
The update is available through the Settings app on the watch or the Apple Watch app on a paired iPhone. Installation requires the watch to be on its charger and have more than 50% battery; one report also says users should install iOS 27.2 first.
More context for Siri
Siri can now refer to information it supplied in previous conversations, so a user could ask again about restaurants it recommended earlier. Apple says the assistant can also use a broader range of personal context, including photos shared in Messages, Calendar event attendees and voicemails. It can draw on Safari history and Reading List from the user’s phone as well.
That wider access comes with a control: an “Excluded Apps” setting lets users choose which apps Siri, Search and suggestions can access. The setting is managed on the iPhone.
Quicker replies, too.
Apple describes watchOS 27.2 as the first major update to watchOS 27. Alongside the Siri changes, it includes other features, bug fixes and security updates. Another reported change brings back the App Switcher, allowing users to move among recently opened apps after its previous implementation was removed in watchOS 27.
Installing the update
Users can start the download from the watch’s Settings app or through the Watch app on their iPhone, then follow the software update prompts. The language expansion means more users can access Siri AI on the watch without relying on US English.
Apple has not specified in the provided release details when the next watchOS update will arrive. For now, watch owners can check Software Update in the Watch app to see whether watchOS 27.2 is ready for their device.
