Apple’s latest software update aims to make Siri more useful beyond one-off commands, adding the ability to recall earlier conversations and draw on more personal information. The iOS 27.2 rollout also expands the assistant’s language support and improves how it works with files stored in iCloud Drive.
Apple is rolling out its 27.2 updates today, with changes that build on the major Siri overhaul introduced in iOS 27 last month. The new features are intended to help Siri respond with more relevant context and handle requests across more of Apple’s services.
Siri can refer back to conversations
With conversation recall, users can ask about information discussed with Siri before, including restaurants the assistant previously recommended. That gives the assistant a way to carry useful context between exchanges rather than treating each request as entirely separate.
Siri can also draw on a wider range of personal sources. Apple says it can use photos attached in Messages and people attending Calendar events, as well as voicemail information. The update also improves results based on Safari history and Reading List items.
The changes could make everyday requests more specific: a user might ask Siri to revisit a recommendation or find information tied to a recent event. The source material does not detail what controls users have over these personal data sources.
More languages and broader file support
English is no longer the only supported language for Siri AI. Apple is adding French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish.
The update also lets Siri scan additional file types saved in iCloud Drive, with PDFs highlighted as a particular area of support. Apple says the assistant is getting faster and more robust on other devices, while activation from the Search text field is also quicker.
The available update details mention improvements for Apple Watch, but the source material cuts off before explaining what changes the watch will receive.
