For people who build slides, draft documents or manage spreadsheets, Apple is putting an AI helper inside the apps they already use. The company says assistants for Keynote, Pages and Numbers will arrive in a November update to Apple Creator Studio, with a beta rollout for devices that support Apple Intelligence.
The tools are designed to work with the content in each app, rather than answer prompts in isolation. In Keynote, the assistant can help design and animate slides or refine an existing presentation. In Pages, it can draft, reorganize and edit text; in Numbers, it can calculate and arrange data, recommend charts and create custom tables.
Agents can connect through an open protocol
Apple says the assistants use models from both Apple and OpenAI. The apps will also support the Model Context Protocol, or MCP, on macOS 27 and later. That allows third-party AI agents to connect to Keynote, Pages and Numbers, opening the door to tools beyond Apple’s own assistant.
The beta requires a compatible Apple Intelligence device running iOS 27, iPadOS 27 or macOS 27 or later. Apple has not specified in the supplied announcement when the beta will reach each eligible device.
The changes form part of a broader Creator Studio update announced by Apple on October 27. The company is also adding MotionVFX effects and content to Final Cut Pro, while Pixelmator Pro is getting a generative “Generate Fill” feature. The release expands AI support across Apple’s creative and productivity software, though the supplied details do not specify how many tasks the assistants can complete without user direction.
Subscription and free-app options
Apple says the update will be available through the App Store in November at no extra charge for existing Creator Studio subscribers. New subscribers in the United States will pay $12.99 a month or $129 a year, with a one-month trial; eligible college students and educators can subscribe for $2.99 monthly or $29.99 annually.
Keynote, Pages and Numbers will remain free, including for customers who do not subscribe to Creator Studio. Up to six family members can share the subscription through Family Sharing.
