Patra Jasa Mengajar Expands Education Benefits for Students

PT Patra Jasa held Patra Jasa Mengajar at SD Negeri Menteng Dalam 11 Pagi in South Jakarta on Thursday (25/6), with 53 company staff serving as teachers and facilitators to broaden students’ learning through interactive methods.

JAKARTA — Patra Jasa Mengajar returned when PT Patra Jasa held the program at SD Negeri Menteng Dalam 11 Pagi in South Jakarta on Thursday (25/6). The initiative, part of the company’s 51st anniversary series, involved 53 Patra Jasa staff members as teachers and facilitators.

For students, the visit offered a learning experience different from the daily classroom routine. For the company, the program is a way to widen education benefits through Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility, or TJSL, with young people as the main target.

Three years running, from Bogor to Bekasi to Jakarta

Patra Jasa Mengajar is not a one-off activity. Patra Jasa said the program has been running continuously since 2024 and is now entering its third year.

Earlier editions were held in Bogor and Bekasi. That pattern shows Patra Jasa is not treating education as a ceremonial CSR item, but as a series it keeps bringing to communities in different areas where the company operates.

In South Jakarta, the activity targeted elementary school students. That matters because primary school age is a formative stage for building learning habits, curiosity, and self-confidence when children interact with adults outside their families.

Patra Jasa chose an interactive and participatory approach. The method is designed so students do not just listen, but take part in the learning process. That kind of setting often helps children absorb material more easily and feel bolder about asking questions.

53 Patra Jasa staff stepped in as teachers

This year, 53 Patra Jasa staff took part. They came from the head office and business units, then shared knowledge, experience, and perspectives with the students.

Employee involvement in social programs like this carries two meanings. On one side, the company carries out its TJSL commitment. On the other, workers get a chance to interact directly with the public, especially children who still need role models in the learning process.

PT Patra Jasa President Director Ray SM Daulay said Patra Jasa Mengajar reflects the company’s commitment to delivering sustainable benefits to society, especially through education.

According to Ray, the best investment in the future is not only business growth, but also improving human resources from an early age.

“Patra Jasa Mengajar is one form of the company’s commitment to delivering sustainable benefits to society, especially through education,” Ray SM Daulay said in a statement quoted from materials received by the newsroom.

That statement underscores the direction the company wants to keep: not just giving donations, but transferring knowledge and experience. In practice, that approach often leaves a longer impact because children take home not only material, but also a new way of seeing things.

Why the program matters for readers

Programs like this matter because basic education still needs support from many sides. Schools do not only need classrooms and books. Children also need exposure to people from outside school who can spark interest in learning, broaden their outlook, and introduce a wider range of future careers.

For the public, Patra Jasa Mengajar sends a signal that an energy and services company is stepping directly into the communities where it operates. The effect may not show up immediately in business figures, but it can be felt in the company’s relationship with the public and the social environment around it.

At a simpler level, the activity also gives schools practical benefits. The class feels more alive. Students get a learning atmosphere that is less monotonous. Teachers gain extra partners to enrich lessons, even if only for one day.

Because it was held during the company’s anniversary celebrations, the program also follows a pattern common among large corporations: using a milestone moment to strengthen social reputation, not just celebrate internal achievements. The difference is that Patra Jasa chose primary education as its entry point.

That matters because children’s education cannot wait. What students receive today often shapes the confidence they bring when deciding their future. In that space, the presence of working adults can offer a concrete example that learning connects directly with life.

Patra Jasa has not yet outlined the next schedule, but the fact that the program has entered its third year suggests it will continue to reach other schools. What comes next will depend on how consistently the company maintains the quality of the program and expands similar education outreach.
