Georgia Projected to Reclaim No. 1 After Win Over Ole Miss
Georgia is projected to reclaim the top spot in the AP Top 25 after beating Ole Miss on the road. Utah is projected second, while Notre Dame moves to No. 3 after defeating Miami, which is expected to fall from No. 1 to No. 5.

Georgia is projected to reclaim No. 1 in the college football rankings AP poll on Sunday after a wire-to-wire road win over Ole Miss, while Notre Dame’s victory over Miami reshapes the top five.
The projected poll puts Utah at No. 2, Notre Dame at No. 3 and UCLA at No. 4. Miami, which entered the week at No. 1, is projected to drop to No. 5 after its 31-24 loss to Notre Dame.
Georgia and Utah lead the projection
Georgia’s emphatic win at Ole Miss is expected to lift the Bulldogs from No. 2 to the top spot. Utah is projected to rise from No. 3 after beating BYU 28-20, leaving the unbeaten Utes just behind Georgia.
The projection points to a close contest between the teams. Utah entered the week with a 9-0 record, and its win over BYU strengthened its case for the top position.
Georgia had previously held No. 1 for one week before losing to Auburn. The projection cites that defeat as the Bulldogs’ lone blemish, alongside wins over Alabama, Ole Miss and Florida.
Notre Dame rises as Miami falls
Notre Dame is projected to move up one place to No. 3 after beating Miami. The Fighting Irish were No. 4 in the AP poll before the game, leaving voters less room to move them than the College Football Playoff selection committee, which had ranked them No. 11.
Miami is projected to fall four places, from No. 1 to No. 5. The projection describes the defeat as a close road loss and notes that Miami was without its star wide receiver because of a recent injury.
UCLA is projected to climb from No. 5 to No. 4 after improving to 9-0 with a win at Minnesota. Quarterback Ty Dieffenbach threw for 303 yards and three touchdowns on eight completions, with passes of 75, 75, 54 and 27 yards.
Tennessee and Alabama also gain
Tennessee and Alabama are projected to improve after double-digit wins against ranked Southeastern Conference opponents. The results also put the poll’s lower boundary in focus: Ole Miss and LSU are seeking a place in the Top 25 after each took a third loss of the season.
The projected rankings follow a Week 10 slate that included seven matchups between teams previously announced in the College Football Playoff Rankings. The selection committee’s next rankings are due Tuesday night.
