Robert Kelker-Kelly, the actor known for playing Bo Brady on Days of Our Lives, died in Missouri at age 62. Emergency responders found him in cardiac arrest, while authorities have not disclosed a cause of death.
He died on October 3. The circumstances remain under investigation by the medical examiner, and law enforcement said there was nothing suspicious at the scene.
Kyle Gaines, division chief and public information officer for the St. Charles County Ambulance District, told Page Six that first responders and paramedics were called for an adult male patient in cardiac arrest. They provided advanced life-saving treatment, but Kelker-Kelly was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Unfortunately the patient was pronounced deceased on scene,” Gaines said.
The medical examiner in Missouri confirmed Kelker-Kelly’s death, according to reports cited by the verified sources. His cause of death has not been determined publicly.
Kelker-Kelly entered the daytime television world in 1987, when he made his acting debut as Sam Fowler on Another World. He played that character for three years before joining Days of Our Lives.
Bo Brady role brought wider recognition
In 1992, Kelker-Kelly took over the role of Bo Brady from Peter Reckell. On the long-running soap, he appeared alongside Kristian Alfonso, who played Hope Brady, and Lisa Rinna, who played Billie Reed.
Reckell returned to the role in 1995, ending Kelker-Kelly’s run as Bo. The part remained the actor’s best-known television role, according to reports on his death.
His death also brings renewed attention to his career across daytime television. He later played Stavros Cassadine on General Hospital, with appearances spanning 2001 to 2003 and 2013 to 2014, according to the sources.
Kelker-Kelly also worked as a professional pilot from 2003 to 2015, the Nine report said.
Lisa Rinna had described a difficult set relationship
Rinna discussed her relationship with Kelker-Kelly in her memoir, released in 2026, according to the reports. She alleged that he was verbally abusive and manipulative while they worked together on Days of Our Lives. Kelker-Kelly did not publicly respond to the allegations, Nine reported.
Rinna also claimed that his abrupt departure from the soap led NBC to provide security for her and Alfonso for several weeks. Those accounts are allegations made by Rinna; the reports do not describe a public response from Kelker-Kelly.
The details of his final emergency call are limited. Gaines said paramedics and first responders used advanced life-saving protocols after reaching the scene, but the available reports do not identify a medical cause.
Authorities have not disclosed what led to the cardiac arrest. Law enforcement reported no suspicious circumstances at the scene.
