JAKARTA, JOURNALARTA.COM – Social assistance in 2026 now follows a new rule: only residents in deciles 1 to 4 are eligible for aid. The main requirement to enter that category is being registered in the government’s official database, known as DTSEN or the National Socioeconomic Single Data system.

DTSEN is the updated replacement for the previous system, DTKS. Below is a complete explanation of what DTSEN is, the requirements, and how to register so you may have a chance to receive assistance such as PKH, BPNT, and PBI-JKN.

What Is DTSEN and How Is It Different from DTKS?

DTSEN stands for National Socioeconomic Single Data. From 2024 through 2026, the DTKS system has officially been replaced and updated into DTSEN.

Although the name has changed, the basic function remains the same: it serves as the only reference database used by the Ministry of Social Affairs to distribute all social assistance programs to the public. The data is updated every three months through direct field checks and synchronized with population data from Dukcapil and other integrated data systems.

Important: If your name is not registered in DTSEN, you will automatically not receive invitations or assessments for any social assistance program.

Requirements to Register for DTSEN in 2026

Before registering, make sure you meet the following criteria:

1. Indonesian citizen (WNI) with a valid electronic ID card (KTP-el).

2. Have a valid Family Card (KK).

3. Not serving as a Civil Servant (ASN), military personnel (TNI), police officer (Polri), or retired from a government institution.

4. Have low income and an economic condition that fits the criteria for deciles 1 to 4.

5. Have never been registered as a previous social assistance recipient, or your existing data is outdated and needs to be updated.

Registration can be done independently through a smartphone without leaving home, using the official Cek Bansos application released by the Ministry of Social Affairs:

4. The officer will enter all your data into the SIKS-NG system through the village operator’s official account.

5. Ask for proof or a registration receipt as confirmation that the process has started. The verification process usually takes around 1 to 3 months.

How Long Until the Data Is Entered and How Do You Check the Status?

After registering, the data will go through a layered verification stage, starting from the RT/RW level, then the village office, subdistrict, district/city Social Affairs Office, and finally verification by the Ministry of Social Affairs.

If you are declared eligible, your name will be included in the DTSEN database. To check whether you are already registered and to find your economic decile, you can visit the official website: http://cekbansos.kemensos.go.id

Check regularly every three months because DTSEN data is updated routinely.

Closing

Registering for DTSEN is the first and mandatory step for residents who want a chance to receive social assistance in 2026. Without being listed in this data, no economic assessment can be carried out.
