JAKARTA, JOURNALARTA.COM – Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy A27 5G with a starting price of USD 349.99, or around Rp5.7 million, with a global rollout scheduled for July 3, 2026. This is more than a minor refresh: Samsung’s mid-range lineup is getting a new chipset, a redesigned display, and an AI feature package that used to be reserved for flagship phones.
The biggest change is under the hood. Samsung has dropped its lower-tier Exynos chip and replaced it with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 built on a 4nm process. The octa-core processor, clocked at up to 2.4 GHz, is paired with an Adreno 710 GPU, which means heavy gaming and high-resolution streaming are no longer out of reach in this price segment. RAM goes up to 8 GB, storage up to 256 GB, and there is a MicroSD slot that supports up to 2 TB.
New Display, More Modern Design
The old teardrop notch is gone. The Galaxy A27 5G now comes with a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED Full HD+ Infinity-O display, featuring a small punch-hole camera at the top center, slimmer bezels, and a more symmetrical look. A 120Hz refresh rate should make scrolling and gaming feel smoother.
The front is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+. The body measures just 7.8 mm thick and weighs 200 grams. Samsung is offering four color options: Black, Blue, Light Green, and Light Pink.
AI Features Move Down the Line, in a Good Way
Samsung calls it Awesome Intelligence. The AI features in the Galaxy A27 5G were previously limited to users of the S or Z series. Now they are coming to the mid-range.
Circle to Search, Samsung’s collaboration with Google, can now recognize multiple objects in one photo, along with a virtual try-on option for clothing found through search. Object Eraser in the Gallery app has also been improved to remove background objects more precisely.
There is also real-time Voice Transcription & Translation in 22 languages directly from the built-in voice recorder app. Users can choose their preferred smart assistant: Google Gemini, Perplexity, or the updated Bixby, which now supports natural-language navigation commands.
Camera: 50 MP OIS at the Back, Autofocus Up Front
The rear camera setup uses three vertically aligned lenses. The main 50 MP camera with an f/1.8 aperture comes with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), which should help with night shots and steadier video without a tripod. The two supporting cameras are a 5 MP ultra-wide and a 2 MP macro lens.
The interesting part is on the front. The selfie camera has been upgraded to 12 MP with autofocus, plus a wider dynamic range so skin tones look more natural in different lighting conditions. It is not just a numbers bump; autofocus on a mid-range selfie camera is still relatively rare.
Six Years of Updates and a 5,000 mAh Battery
Out of the box, the Galaxy A27 5G runs Android 16 with One UI 8.5. Samsung promises six generations of Android OS updates and six years of security updates. That is the longest support window in its class and a strong reason for buyers who do not want a phone that feels outdated too quickly.
For durability, the phone carries an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance, plus hardware encryption through Samsung Knox Vault. A 5,000 mAh battery is backed by 25W fast charging.
