The Dallas Cowboys led the Indianapolis Colts 17-7 late in the second quarter, with quarterback Dak Prescott throwing touchdown passes to Jake Ferguson and CeeDee Lamb. Here are the Dallas Cowboys vs Colts match player stats from the play-by-play, through the last logged play with 0:21 left in the half.
Indianapolis has an extra storyline. Running back Jonathan Taylor is the subject of trade talks before Tuesday's 4 p.m. ET NFL deadline, and he was on the field.
Cowboys scoring drives
Kicker Brandon Aubrey opened the scoring with a 45-yard field goal after a seven-play, 34-yard drive. Dallas led 3-0.
Prescott then led a 15-play, 65-yard drive that took 7:05. He finished it with a 10-yard touchdown pass to Ferguson on fourth-and-2, and Aubrey converted the extra point for a 10-7 lead.
The second touchdown came fast. On first-and-10 from the Indianapolis 44, Prescott hit Lamb on the right side for a 44-yard score. The drive took four plays, covered 75 yards and used 0:28 of the clock.
Lamb also caught passes of 22 and 13 yards on that stretch of the half. Prescott found Ryan Flournoy for 7 yards and Javonte Williams for another 7 on third-and-4.
Colts and Taylor
Indianapolis answered the opening field goal with a touchdown. Seth McGowan ran in from 2 yards out, and Spencer Shrader's extra point made it 7-3.
Taylor carried three times on that drive for gains of 6, 2 and 6 yards. Quarterback Daniel Jones threw incomplete to Keenan Allen on first-and-goal from the Dallas 8.
Ashton Dulin added a 3-yard run on the drive, which covered 19 yards on six plays.
Ground game and penalties
Dallas split its carries. Williams rushed for gains of 9, 6, 4 and 1 yards, while Tyler Goodson had runs of 11, 6, 5 and 4 yards.
Penalties cost both sides. Dallas was flagged twice for holding, 10 yards each time, and once for an ineligible pass, 5 yards. Indianapolis committed one 15-yard unnecessary roughness penalty.
Trade deadline context
Indianapolis is sitting on an offer of a second-round draft pick and more for Taylor, according to reports ahead of the deadline. The Colts also view him as a potential part of any rebuild.
The Colts have told other teams they have an offer of a fourth-round pick for receiver Josh Downs, who asked to be traded. Allen has drawn trade inquiries too.
The deadline falls on Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET.
