Reading a document on a foldable iPhone could feel closer to opening a book: Apple’s iPhone Duo appears to show two consecutive pages side by side in Quick Look when held open. The option could make the device’s wider inner screen more useful for reviewing long documents, not just watching video or multitasking.

A video shared on X by code explorer pdfu shows an Apple Style Guide spread across both halves of the unfolded display. Quick Look’s search, markup and share controls appear along the right edge as the user navigates the document. The clip was shared on October 6.

A layout built for the wider screen

The two-page view gives the foldable’s 7.6-inch inner display a practical role for reading. Instead of enlarging a single page, the interface places facing pages together, a familiar format for books and other documents. The phone also has a 5.4-inch outer display when closed, according to details included in the source material.

Apple has already described iOS 27 features designed around the Duo’s flexible form, including layouts that respond to the device’s angle and side-by-side multitasking. The Quick Look preview suggests document viewing is another part of the interface adapting to the larger canvas.

The finding comes from a video, rather than an Apple announcement. The clip shows the feature in use, but the available information does not establish whether the layout will support every document or be available across all Quick Look previews.

Launch plans are approaching

Apple unveiled the iPhone Duo on September 9. Preorders are scheduled to open at 5 a.m. Pacific Time on Friday, October 16, with availability beginning Friday, October 23, according to the source material.

The device’s unfolded thickness is also cited as 5.2 millimeters in a separate report, which said that would match the rumored thickness of the next iPhone Air. But for document readers, the more immediate change may be on screen: Quick Look can present a document as a spread, with its navigation tools kept to one side.
