$250 Each in Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP and Solana: Value Now
$250 Each in Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP and Solana

A $1,000 basket split equally among Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP and Solana was worth $886.54 on November 4, after October’s selloff erased $113.46, or 11.3%, from its value. Bitcoin lost the least; Solana took the heaviest hit.

The figures show how the four-coin spread softened the damage compared with holding only Solana, but still fell short of a Bitcoin-only position. A rebound in early November has narrowed some losses, though none of the four investments has returned to its starting value.

How much is the $1,000 crypto basket worth now?

As of the morning of November 4, the equal-weight basket stood at $886.54. Each coin began with a $250 allocation, and all four had declined from that starting amount.

Bitcoin’s portion was worth $236.98, a loss of $13.02. Ethereum was down $25.06, while XRP had lost $29.12. Solana fell to $203.75, leaving it $46.25 below its initial value.

The difference between the strongest and weakest holdings was stark. Bitcoin retained the most value, while Solana accounted for the largest individual loss in the basket.

Solana suffered the steepest decline

Solana’s price closed at $120.76 on October 5 before falling to a low of $91.84 on November 2. It traded 67% below its all-time high of $293.31 from January 2025.

XRP was 63.8% below its own all-time high, while Ethereum was 50.8% below its $4,946.05 peak. Both highs were set in 2025.

The difference also appears in the value of hypothetical single-coin holdings. A $1,000 position in Bitcoin would have been worth $947.92, compared with $814.99 for the same amount placed in Solana. The diversified basket landed between those outcomes, at $886.54.

November gains have not restored the starting amounts

All four coins rose after the October 31 close. Ethereum gained 8%, XRP rose 5.6%, Bitcoin added 4% and Solana advanced 1.4%.

Those gains have not been enough to bring any holding back to its initial $250. Bitcoin needs a further 5.5% gain to break even, while Ethereum needs 11.1% and XRP needs 13.2%. Solana faces the largest gap, requiring a 22.7% gain.

Solana also traded below its 50-day average of $108.61, a measure traders use to assess the medium-term trend. Bitcoin remained below its 50-day average of $81,909.

What did diversification change?

Splitting the money across four coins protected the portfolio from the full impact of choosing the weakest performer. The $886.54 basket was worth more than an all-Solana position at $814.99, but less than an all-Bitcoin position at $947.92.

The figures also illustrate a limit to spreading money among major cryptocurrencies: the four coins fell during the same market downturn. Bitcoin’s smaller decline helped the basket, while the losses in Ethereum, XRP and especially Solana pulled its total lower.

Bitcoin’s next price levels cited in the analysis were a close above its October 1 mark of $84,842 and a close below the November 2 low of $76,709. The basket was still down 11.3% as of November 4.
