Samsung has named One UI 9.5 in a software changelog for the first time, offering a sign that development of its next Galaxy interface is moving forward. The brief reference appears in an update to the company’s Nearby Device Scanning app, but Samsung has not announced features or a release schedule.

The app update, version 11.1.24.8, lists “One UI 9.5 updates” among three changes. It also adds support for Quick Pair pop-ups and includes stability fixes. The update is for Samsung phones and tablets.

A mention, not a launch announcement

The changelog is the first official reference to One UI 9.5 from Samsung, according to SamMobile, which reported the update. Its wording suggests the app has been prepared to work with the upcoming software, but does not explain what the interface will bring or which devices will receive it.

That distinction matters: a compatibility note can show that work is underway without signaling that the software is close to release. Samsung has provided no timing, leaving users without a confirmed rollout window.

Reports about One UI 9.5 had surfaced before Samsung unveiled One UI 9.0, the company’s latest interface for Galaxy phones and tablets. The new changelog reference follows those earlier indications, but adds no detail about the software itself.

What Galaxy users know so far

Samsung’s current software cycle is still focused on One UI 9.0. The company released its stable version for the Galaxy S26 series in South Korea on September 16, 2026, while a global rollout had not begun at the time of SamMobile’s September report. The report said Samsung had dropped a specific rollout date outside South Korea after earlier timing targets slipped.

That provides context, not a timetable for One UI 9.5. The company has yet to say how the next version will differ from One UI 9.0, when it will arrive or which Galaxy models will get it. For now, the Nearby Device Scanning changelog is the clearest official sign that Samsung is preparing for the update.
