Tecno launched the Camon Slim globally on June 22, 2026, and that combination lands in a very specific lane: users who want a slim phone that still lasts all day and then some. The catch is simple. Some compromises were clearly made to keep the body this lean.
Design: thin, curved, and built to stand out
The Camon Slim measures 162.8 x 77.7 x 6.39mm. Tecno has not disclosed the weight, but the phone is clearly designed to feel light and easy to carry. It uses a symmetrical 3D curved unibody, while the rear camera module follows the contour of the back instead of sticking out aggressively.
That profile matters. A lot. Thin phones usually give up battery capacity. Tecno went the other way and kept a 5600mAh cell inside. The company also gives the device IP68 and IP69 certification, which is rare at this thickness. IP69 means it can handle high-pressure hot water spray, so the Camon Slim is better protected than most slim handsets that stop at basic splash resistance.
There are five color options. New Mondrian uses photochromic tech and shifts into yellow, green, and cyan under UV light. Prism Black and Jungle Green get a 3D crystal diamond pattern. Van Gogh Blue carries a Starry Night-inspired look, while Burgundy Red keeps things more restrained. The camera island also includes 354 mini LEDs Tecno calls Mood Light, with 55 lighting scenes for alerts, charging, and custom patterns.
It sounds a little flashy. It is. But it also gives the phone a visual identity, which is rare in this price tier.
Display and performance: strong screen, modest chipset
The Camon Slim ships with a 6.78-inch AMOLED display at 1224 x 2720 resolution, or 1.5K, with about 440 ppi and an adaptive 144Hz refresh rate. The selfie camera sits in a small center punch-hole, and the bezels are slim enough to keep the front looking clean.
On paper, that screen sits near flagship territory. Scrolling feels smooth, text looks sharp, and video playback benefits from the extra resolution. Tecno has not confirmed the exact Gorilla Glass version, so durability on the display surface remains one detail users should watch for once retail units arrive.
Under the hood, Tecno uses the MediaTek Helio G200 Ultimate, a 6nm chip and a refreshed version of the Helio G99/G100 family. It comes with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM, 128GB or 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage, and up to 24GB of virtual RAM. The software is Android 16 with HiOS 16.2.
Benchmark figures shared for the device show a single-core score of 997 and a multi-core score of 2,950, which puts it near the Snapdragon 778G class in broad terms. In daily use, that should cover WhatsApp, Instagram, YouTube, Shopee, and other common apps without fuss. Mobile Legends can run at 60fps on max settings. Genshin Impact sits around 30 to 40fps on medium settings. PUBG also performs well at extreme settings, though heat management is naturally tighter in a body this thin.
Camera: one rear lens, and that’s the trade-off
The rear camera setup is simple: one 50MP Sony LYTIA 600 sensor with a 1/2-inch size, f/1.6 aperture, and a flicker sensor. There is no ultrawide lens and no macro camera. Just one camera. Tecno frames the setup around FlashSnap and practical AI features, but the hardware choice is the main story here.
In daylight, the 50MP sensor should deliver detailed shots with decent dynamic range and natural color. The 2x crop remains usable because of the high-resolution sensor. At night, Super Night AI mode helps control noise, though it will not match larger flagship sensors. Video tops out at 2K 30fps with EIS. The front camera is 32MP.
Here is the hard truth. No ultrawide is a real limitation. If you shoot group photos, interiors, or landscapes often, you will feel that gap fast.
Battery and charging: the headline feature
The 5600mAh battery is the feature that makes this phone interesting. Tecno says the cell is built for long-term durability and should last up to five years with minimal degradation. The included U600TSA charger supports 60W Ultra Charge, and Tecno says the phone can go from 0 to 50 percent in about 25 minutes and reach a full charge in around 55 minutes.
That is a strong pairing for a slim phone. In normal mixed use, battery life should stretch to about 1.5 days. For gaming, screen-on time can land around five to six hours. The package also includes dual speakers with Dolby Atmos, NFC, an IR blaster, and an in-display fingerprint sensor.
The one missing feature that may matter to some buyers is wireless charging. Tecno appears to have left it out to preserve the thin body. That decision makes sense, but it still stings when cheaper rivals start adding the feature.
Who should buy it?
The Camon Slim is not trying to win every category. It is trying to be thin without acting fragile, and that alone gives it a clear identity. It suits users who want a stylish phone with a big battery, a high-refresh AMOLED display, and strong everyday performance. It is less convincing for users who need an ultrawide camera, care about wireless charging, or want a better gaming chipset.
It also uses UFS 2.2 storage, not UFS 3.1, which keeps it from feeling fully premium even if the design says otherwise. Pricing has not been announced globally. In India, rumors point to ₹22,999, or around Rp4.4 million, but the device is still listed as coming soon. Tecno Indonesia has not confirmed local pricing or release timing yet.
For now, the Camon Slim’s biggest number is also its most unusual one: 6.39mm.
